Dentsu Inc. Launches Official App "MOT Guide - Gabriel Orozco Exhibition" for Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art

Dentsu Inc., in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT), has released the interactive art experience app "MOT Guide - Gabriel Orozco Exhibition" free of charge starting Saturday, March 28, 2015. This app provides visitors to the "Gabriel Orozco Exhibition*1" (on view at MOT until May 10) with a new viewing experience.

This app utilizes the location-based wireless communication technology "iBeacon※2". When used in the exhibition rooms, it provides interactive guidance via video, audio, and text tailored to the visitor's location, supporting the appreciation of the artworks. It also delivers messages from the artist and behind-the-scenes stories about the works automatically. Visitors can tweet their impressions of the artworks and interact with other visitors, enabling a new interactive art experience.

*1 Gabriel Orozco (b. 1962, Mexico) is one of the leading contemporary artists active internationally from the early 1990s to the present. From 2009 to 2011, he held major solo exhibitions at major museums worldwide, starting with the Museum of Modern Art in New York and including Tate Modern in London. This exhibition marked his first solo show at a museum in Japan. This exhibition presents works spanning Orozco's career, showcasing his captivating appeal from past to present, including his signature work La DS—a car disassembled and reassembled—and his latest canvas pieces.
