Ice Cream "Papico" CM Presentation Event Heated! "Papipupe Papico Game"
Ezaki Glico held a press conference for its newPapico ice cream TV commercial on June 25 at the Jiji Press Hall in Chuo Ward, Tokyo.
The first installment, "Papipupe Papico Game,"and the second installment, "Showdown with Mr. Fukuzawa, " both featuring AKB48 members again this year, will begin airing sequentially starting July 1. Both commercials use the "Papipupe Papico Game" as their theme, a game everyone can enjoy. The second installment also features freelance announcer Akira Fukuzawa.

The game can be started anytime, anywhere, by anyone. The first person starts by saying "Papico" and pointing at someone. The person pointed at says "Pipico" and names the next person. The sequence continues in order: "Pupuko," "Pepeko," and so on through Papipupepo. Anyone who makes a mistake loses.
Seven members, including Haruka Shimazaki in the second commercial's costume, appeared on stage in vibrant yukata. They discussed the game: "It starts suddenly, has a fast pace, and is tricky," "Making eye contact deepens bonds," and "It's simple but requires strategy," before demonstrating it. Told that two losses meant a penalty game, the members tackled it seriously, but Nanami Yamada made a mistake, ending the round.

As excitement lingered on stage, Fukuzawa's voice suddenly echoed, and he himself appeared shouting his famous catchphrase , "Just meet!!" He joked that the members' poor articulation made him come out, revealing he only had one retake during the commercial shoot. Members who co-starred in the shoot commented, "I really felt the power of a pro," and "This game seems tailor-made for Fukuzawa-san." Fukuzawa-san suggested, "They should incorporate this into announcer recruitment exams."
The second round began with Fukuzawa joining in. Despite being the undisputed champion of clear articulation and facing a barrage of finger-pointing from the members, Fukuzawa managed to get through with only one loss. Finally, Takahashi Akari was declared the loser.

The members promoted the game, saying things like: "Let's spread the game and get more friends to play," "We want to make a Papico Select Team with Fukuzawa-san," and "After getting heated up playing the game, you really want to eat Papico."
