On July 3rd, Dentsu Inc. and Cyber Communications Inc. (CCI) announced a joint venture with Animax Broadcast Japan (Animax), operator of the anime pay-TV channel "Animax," to launch internet video advertising on "Animax PLUS"※2, the anime video content distribution service provided by Animax※1. The service will commence on August 1, 2015. Advertising product sales will begin on July 3rd.
In this initiative, the three companies will jointly set up pre-roll video ads (video ads inserted before the main content is streamed), with Dentsu Inc. and CCI handling sales. The three companies aim to enhance the value of "Animax PLUS" as an advertising medium targeting the young demographic highly receptive to anime. They also plan to reinvest the revenue generated from this business to expand high-quality content and enhance the service.
