The "Hand Washing Area" is installed in restrooms throughout both parks, including Critter Country at the Land and American Waterfront at the Sea. Pressing a button or waving your hand dispenses Mickey Mouse-shaped foam, making hand washing fun.
The ceremony was realized through the alignment of Kao's desire to provide children with a little magic—awakening them to the importance of cleanliness through the fun experience of handwashing—and the fundamental concept of "family entertainment" at Disney theme parks. Subsequently, amidst the arrival of Disney characters, the Mickey Mouse-shaped foam was demonstrated by Kao President Michitaka Sawada and Oriental Land President Kyoichiro Uenishi.
Kao also offers the "Custodial Kids!" experience program for children.
This program allows children to change into the white costumes of the Custodial Cast Members at the park and experience part of their work, such as sweeping. It is included in the children's special plan currently sold as part of the Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Package.
