Suntory Beverage & Food International will release "Concentration Regain" and "Super Concentration Regain 200," energy drinks containing theanine, on August 4. Theanine is an amino acid said to be related to relaxation.

Ahead of the launch, on July 27, Suntory held the "Suntory Concentration Regain Press Conference ~ 'Concentration Experiment' by Dr. Theanine ~" at Nicofarre in Roppongi, Tokyo.

The opening featured the video "[Concentration Experiment] Q. How Many Lab Coats?" In it, the mysterious Dr. Theanine asks how many people wearing lab coats he passed while walking through his lab. The correct answer is revealed at the end, along with a surprising fact.

Taking the stage were celebrities Shingo Yanagisawa and Nana Suzuki, often considered the least focused in the entertainment world. It was revealed they were invited as subjects for Dr. Theanine's "concentration experiment." After receiving counseling from neuroscientist Nobuko Nakano on stage, Suzuki was told, "You always go full throttle and can't hit the brakes," while Yanagisawa was described as "a short-burst concentrator who struggles with endurance." Dr. Nakano explained that the balance of brain chemicals is crucial for concentration, mentioning the calming effects of theanine, a component abundant in tea.

Hearing this, the pair promptly downed their "concentration drinks" and tackled the experiment. However, they missed a long putt on the golf course and got a wordplay puzzle wrong. Yanagisawa, in particular, seemed preoccupied with the progress of a high school baseball game, frequently glancing offstage and revealing his lack of focus. He even gave a bizarre answer on the flipboard, writing his signature phrase: "Have sweet dreams."

So then, they downed "Super Concentration Regain 200," which contains double the theanine. When challenged to spot the mistakes on the product packaging, Yanagisawa-san correctly identified them, demonstrating the effect? Suzuki-san joked, "By drinking Concentration Regain, I'll clear my name as the least focused person in showbiz," while Yanagisawa-san laughed, "I'll keep drinking it from today onward and hope to have sweet dreams this summer."
