The late Yutaka Narita, former president of Dentsu Inc., inducted into China's "Advertising Hall of Fame"

The China Advertising Hall of Fame, China's premier advertising honor, announced its inaugural inductees. Nine individuals were honored at an awards ceremony held in Beijing on November 7th. Among them, the late Dentsu Inc. President Yutaka Narita was the sole foreign recipient. He was recognized for his contributions to the development of China's advertising industry through the cultivation of advertising talent.

The China Advertising Hall of Fame was jointly established on June 11, 2015, by the General Agency Professional Committee of the China Commerce Advertising Association, the China Advertising Museum, and the National Advertising Research Institute. It honors industry figures who have elevated the status and development of China's advertising industry. This marks the first such recognition in China.

During his tenure as president, Mr. Narita responded to a request from China and decided in 1996 to implement the "China Advertising Talent Development Fund Project," through which his company would support the cultivation of advertising talent in China. This project, which continues today, targets Chinese universities responsible for advertising education. It promotes activities such as inviting trainees to the company's headquarters, conducting advertising lectures and marketing seminars within China, and publishing advertising teaching materials.

The diverse support activities, tailored to local realities and needs, have been highly regarded within China's advertising education community. Mr. Narita's role in laying the foundation for this work led to his induction into the Hall of Fame.

Previously, the company received the "Special Contribution Award for Education Support" (2006) and the "Most Valuable Partner Award" (2015) from China's Ministry of Education (equivalent to Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) for its contributions to the development of advertising education in China. The individual also received China's "Special Medal for Education Support" (2006).
