TOTO Official Partner of the Tokyo 2020 Games

Sanitary ware manufacturer TOTO announced on February 24 that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming an Official Partner of Tokyo 2020. The contract category is "Sanitary Fixtures."

The Tokyo 2020 Sponsorship Program is domestic-focused, consisting of three tiers: the top-level Gold Partners, Official Partners, and Official Supporters. Contract sponsors are partners for the Japanese Olympic and Paralympic teams for the 2020 Tokyo Games and the subsequent events through the end of December 2020, and can exercise rights such as the use of titles and marks.

A press conference was held the same day at Hotel New Otani in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. President Madoka Kitamura referenced the hotel's history, noting that the company's domestically first-developed unit bath was adopted when the hotel opened to coincide with the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. "I feel a connection between our company and the Olympics," he stated. "TOTO's corporate philosophy, which means bringing reform to the world, aligns with the Games' vision. By creating safe, secure, and comfortable personal spaces, we aim to contribute to realizing the Games' vision."

Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori stated, "TOTO is a leading Japanese company that has pioneered the plumbing industry for many years. While the Tokyo Games are a festival of sports, they are also an excellent opportunity to promote Japanese industry. We hope the company will share its outstanding toilet culture with the world."
