Dentsu Inc. Collaborates with Samurai, Led by Dai Tamesue, to Launch "Athlete Brains" Initiative ― Contributing to an Active and Healthy Society with Seven Top Athletes ―

On March 16, Dentsu Inc. announced a collaboration with Samurai, a company engaged in talent management, corporate consulting and advisory services, running school operations, and event planning and development. Together, they will advance the "Athlete Brains" initiative, contributing to the creation of an active and healthy society. "Active and healthy" refers to "a state of living each day with a positive and active mindset. For example, waking up in the morning with excitement and falling asleep at night with a sense of fulfillment." To help build such an active and healthy society, seven top athletes have stepped forward. The members are: Dai Tamesue (track and field, 400m hurdles), Nobuharu Asahara (track and field, 100m), Kentaro Asahi (beach volleyball), Koji Matsushita (table tennis), Miho Takeda (synchronized swimming), Akie Murashu (figure skating), and Yoshie Takeshita (women's volleyball). All are top-ranked Japanese athletes who have competed in the Olympics.

(Detailed profiles available at http://www.athletebrains.jp ) Tamesue, the project's representative, stated: "I believe an athlete's value lies in the 'practical knowledge' accumulated through repeated trial and error with their own bodies. Through the Athlete Brains project, if we can give back this 'practical knowledge' to society, it could increase interest in one's own body and change people's behavior." Against the backdrop of rising health awareness leading up to 2020, Dentsu Inc. aims to contribute to building an active and healthy society by combining Tamesue's vision with Dentsu Inc.'s creativity. The two companies will jointly develop the following four services:

1. Recommended Mark Service: A service certifying products recommended for consumers to help realize an active and healthy society as Athlete Brains Recommended Products. Certified products can utilize this recommended mark in their marketing activities.

2. Joint Development Service: A service that leverages the "practical knowledge" of business members across diverse fields—preventive medicine, healthcare, sports, wellness, health management, early childhood education, and urban development—to provide new product, service, and content development through ideas and proposals unique to Athlete Brains.

3. Training & Lecture Services: A service that transforms the "practical knowledge" gained by each business member through their respective sports into knowledge useful in business settings. This knowledge is shared through training sessions and workshops focused on self-management and team management. 4. Active Healthy Bank: A portion of sponsorship funds is utilized to support activities contributing to building an active and healthy society. This includes funding classes where people can experience the joy of exercise and promoting sports for people with disabilities. ■Athlete Brains Main Visual
