Koichi Sato's reaction to the aftertaste: "Wow!" Suntory "-196℃ Extreme Sharpness" New Commercial
Suntory Spirits launched its new chuhai, "-196℃ Ultimate Sharpness," on March 29th, featuring a sharpness perfectly suited for meals. Preceding this, on the 28th, the company held a new TV commercial launch event at the Conrad Tokyo in Minato Ward, where actor Koichi Sato, the commercial's character, participated in a talk session.

The presentation began with Akiyo Sato, General Manager of the company's New Product Development Department, introducing the features of the new product: "The combination of strong carbonation and 'oolong tea polyphenols' achieves a crisp and refreshing aftertaste. It is perfect as a drink to accompany meals, even with greasy dishes."
The TV commercials "Aftertaste" and "Now That's Something," which aired on the same day as the launch, and "Fried Food," which was released in advance on the website, were also screened at the venue. All three commercials feature close-ups of Koichi Sato drinking Gokukire against a black background, appealing to the refreshing aftertaste. The catchphrase is "You'll be surprised."

In the "Now?" edition, Sato addresses viewers with "Now you're surprised by a chuhai?" During the talk session, he expressed his surprise: "I'm not usually fond of sweeter drinks, but this one had a taste I could really enjoy. Honestly, I was surprised. It goes down smoothly."

During the commercial shoot, Sato-san says he "made about 100 different surprised faces." Revealing his actor's approach to crafting varied expressions of shock, he explained: "I wonder if I should say this... It's like the shock of witnessing an acquaintance's affair, and then the shock if that acquaintance was a friend versus if it was your boss. Or the shock of spilling soy sauce. I create variations within myself."
When a message video from Mitsu Mangrove, appearing in the "Fried Foods" edition, played saying "Sato-san has sexy lips. They're plump and make you want to suck on them," Sato-san responded, "That comment's greasy too~," took a big gulp of Gokukire, and promoted the product by saying, "Feels refreshing!"

During the final photo session at the press conference, reporters kept requesting, "Give us a surprised face!" While saying, "I'm playing a serious detective role in a movie opening soon...," he showed off various surprised expressions and funny faces, energizing the venue.
