Starbucks Summer Party 2016

Starbucks Coffee Japan held the "Starbucks Summer Party 2016" at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on April 12th, coinciding with the launch of its first seasonal Frappuccino for the summer season, the "Cantaloupe Melon & Cream Frappuccino."

Launching on the 13th, this Frappuccino features a sauce and cream made with the flesh and juice of cantaloupe, a red-fleshed melon known for its rich aroma and mild sweetness. It is finished with panna cotta offering a rich milk flavor and pure white whipped cream. Sipping through the extra-wide straw delivers the satisfying crunch of the Frappuccino alongside the chunky texture of large fruit pieces.

On a stage designed with the same vibrant orange and white tropical contrast as the new product, Ryohei Ohtani and Nico Ando showcased their elegant catwalk.

Following this, talent YOU and company executive director Yumi Horie took the stage for a talk show.

Ms. Horie explained the product concept: "Every year around this time, customers eagerly anticipate what Frappuccino Starbucks will release. As creators, we agonize over what surprises to bring. This time, we developed it using the juiciness, flavor, and vibrant color of cantaloupe, which is still relatively rare in Japan."

YOU, wearing an outfit featuring an orange color reminiscent of cantaloupe, tasted the "Cantaloupe Melon & Cream Frappuccino" and shared her impressions: "It's super melon. It's amazing, I was surprised. I love melon. Women and kids love cream. (Because it's substantial) it's also good when you're a little hungry."

The Cantaloupe Melon & Cream Frappuccino is available only in Tall size for ¥630. It will be sold at Starbucks stores nationwide (excluding some locations) until May 17.
