Toyota New "PASSO" PR Event Matsuko's signature style in full force at the venue and in the commercial!
Toyota Motor Corporation launched the redesigned new PASSO on April 12. Based on the concept of a "smart compact for city driving," the vehicle pursues the fundamentals of a compact car: "economy," "user-friendly packaging," and "reassuring driving performance."
Alongside the simple "X" grade, the lineup now includes the new "MODA" grade, featuring a smart and sophisticated design.

A PR event was held at Roppongi Midtown in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on the launch day.
The event kicked off with the unveiling of new TV commercials: the "Matsuko's Companion: What Are You Gonna Do?" and "Same: What Does It Look Like?" editions, airing from the 13th, and the "Same: Doraemon" edition, airing from the 17th. Matsuko plays an auto show companion, interacting with colleagues, customers, and Nobita (played by Satoshi Tsumabuki) to convey that this is not a kei car and to highlight its spacious interior. The result is a comical piece showcasing Matsuko's signature style.

When Matsuko took the stage and it was revealed she had been appointed as a "special mission" outside director, she commented, "My special mission is to sell 8,000 units a month! Carrying the weight of one model is scary," and made everyone laugh by adding, "Maybe I should travel around the country and sell it myself."
The catchphrase is "Not a Kei Car K," where "K" stands for words expressing the Passo: "KAITEKI" (comfortable), "KAWAII" (cute), and "KAKKOII" (cool). Matsuko's favorite point is the front bench seat, spacious enough for someone as large as herself. While the simple X grade is good, she also recommends the stylish Moda.

On stage, a gift for Matsuko was prepared to celebrate her appointment as director. At Matsuko's signal, the veil was lifted to reveal a giant "Matsuko Chair." It combines her favorite front seat with tires, featuring a form where her figurine seems to envelop the entire structure. Hearing it took three months to make, Matsuko remarked, "That's way too much labor cost," yet her expression suggested she wasn't entirely displeased. Events where you can sit in Matsuko's Chair will be held in Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Osaka.
Matsuko emphasized, "The Passo is all-around perfect for Japan's environment, and this size is ideal." She concluded with her signature sales pitch: "Just get in and try it! Head to your nearest Corolla dealership!"
