Otsuka Pharmaceutical Wins First-Ever Dentsu Inc. Grand Prix for Integrated Advertising

On May 30, Dentsu Inc. announced the winners of the 69th Dentsu Advertising Awards, Japan's only annual comprehensive advertising awards. Otsuka Pharmaceutical won its first Grand Prix at the Dentsu Advertising Awards. The company was recognized for its outstanding achievements across all advertising activities, including winning the Dentsu Advertising Award and the Grand Prix in the "TV" category, as well as the Grand Prix in the "OOH Media" category.

In other categories: Ishiyakei won the "Newspaper Advertising Dentsu Award"; Canon Marketing Japan won the "Magazine Advertising Dentsu Award"; Daiichi Sankyo Healthcare won the "Radio Advertising Dentsu Award"; Panasonic won the "OOH Media Advertising Dentsu Award"; Kobayashi City, Miyazaki Prefecture won the "Digital Media Advertising Dentsu Award"; Matsumoto Apple Association won the "Activation Planning Dentsu Award"; Roppongi Shopping District Promotion Association won the 'Innovative Approach Dentsu Inc. Award'.

Additionally, KDDI was selected for the 'Dentsu Inc. Advertising Award Special Prize,' which recognizes advertising works and solutions that garnered widespread public attention and became topics of discussion.

Since its establishment in 1947, the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards have annually honored advertisers who demonstrated outstanding advertising planning and techniques in advertising works implemented during the year, contributing to the advancement of advertising activities.

The 69th selection covered advertisements implemented between April 1, 2015, and March 31, 2016, with a total of 1,505 entries reviewed by the selection committee.

Reflecting the diversification of communication methods, categories were broadly reorganized into "Media Advertising Creativity" and "Planning for Solutions," with category names changed. The eight categories now include "Newspaper Advertising," "Magazine Advertising," "Radio Advertising," "TV Advertising," "OOH Media Advertising (formerly Outdoor Advertising)," "Digital Media Advertising (formerly Digital Advertising)," plus "Activation Planning (formerly Promotional Advertising)" and "Innovative Approach (formerly Integrated Campaign)" to evaluate planning for solutions.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for July 1 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa International Hall Pamir in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Winning entries will be exhibited at the "Ad Museum Tokyo" in Shiodome from November 1 to 26.
