The "China Advertising Education Joint Project," which Dentsu Inc. has promoted to foster talent in China's advertising industry, celebrated its 20th anniversary. A commemorative ceremony was held on May 27 at the Advertising Museum within Communication University of China. Over 100 past participants attended the ceremony, reflecting on the project's achievements and outcomes.
In the opening remarks, Xu Tao, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at China's Ministry of Education, stated, "We look forward to continuing this exchange." Dentsu Inc.'s Vice President Shoichi Nakamoto expressed, "We aim to build healthier and stronger bonds through advertising culture." Guest speakers included Koichi Ito, Minister-Counselor at the Embassy of Japan in China, and Huang Xinmin, Deputy Director-General of the Advertising Supervision and Administration Department at China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
Over the past 20 years, 155 Chinese university faculty members have undergone training at the Tokyo headquarters, and over 14,000 participants have attended advertising seminars and other programs. Many of these participants are now active in Chinese educational institutions and the advertising and media industries.
A corner within the museum displayed photographs and videos chronicling the project's history, where participants reminisced about past memories and shared visions for the future.
On the 28th, a commemorative symposium was held at the university's International Exchange Center. Dentsu Inc. China CEO Norihiro Yamagishi delivered a keynote speech on "Dentsu Inc. Aegis Network (DAN) Strategy in the Digital Age." Additionally, three speakers—Marketing Solutions Bureau Director Nobutaka Hayashi, Business Creation Center Future Creation Office Manager Yoshifumi Horikiri, and CDC Creative Director Yoshihiro Yagi—each led breakout sessions on the themes: "Advertising Talent for the Times," "Development and Transformation of the Advertising Industry," and "The Challenge of Creativity."
