Generator Content "Shin Godzilla~" Now Available! ~Your avatar walks around Tokyo streets with Godzilla's signature stride!?~

Generator content titled "Shin Godzilla~," which creates content based on user-input data, began distribution on July 29th, the release date of the latest Japanese Godzilla film "Shin Godzilla" (distributed by Toho). This content allows users to enjoy creating videos featuring an avatar (digital alter ego) using their own photo, made to walk like Godzilla.

 

To use the content, users first access the site, take a photo of their face, select an avatar, and enter a nickname to complete their original video.

How to Use "Shin Godzilla~"

A total of 8 scenes appear. Five scenes are randomly displayed each time from among 7 scenes featuring Godzilla from previous films (Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Ginza 4-chome, Shinjuku Station East Exit, Tokyo International Exhibition Center, Shinjuku Subcenter, National Diet Building) and 1 scene from the latest film "Shin Godzilla". Depending on the scene, you can enjoy watching your "avatar" perform the Godzilla walk from various angles.

The generator content "Shin Godzilla~" utilizes "motion capture technology," also employed in the film. Motion capture technology is a system that digitizes the "movements" of people or objects. By applying this digitized "motion" data to computer graphics (CG), it enables the reproduction of more delicate and realistic movements. The Godzilla appearing in this film is the first to be created entirely in full CG, with its entire body rendered and performed using motion capture.
