From August 18 to 21, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government held the cultural project "CULTURE & TOKYO in RIO (Tokyo Caravan)" at the cultural facility "Palacio Imperial" in Rio de Janeiro's Centro district. Additionally, "CULTURE & TOKYO in RIO (TURN)" and the "Tokyo Tourism PR Exhibition" are being held until September 7. This initiative was planned to introduce Japanese culture and art to people from around the world visiting Rio de Janeiro for the Olympics.
Palacio Imperial
Tokyo Caravan is a cultural initiative conceived by playwright and director Hideki Noda. Its concept is that new forms of expression emerge through the interaction of diverse artists. Starting in Brazil, it will continue to expand globally, including stops in Fukushima and Sendai.
On August 20, Japanese artists including Noda and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra collaborated with Brazilian artists to present a performance.

TURN is an art project supervised by artist Katsuhiko Hibino, engaging with diverse people from different backgrounds and customs through creativity. It exhibits works created by artists based in Japan and Brazil through exchanges at a welfare facility in São Paulo.
