Panasonic, a Worldwide Olympic Partner, operated its corporate pavilion "Stadium of Wonders" at Rio de Janeiro's tourist destination Sugarloaf Mountain from August 7 to 21.
It showcased Panasonic's latest technologies, including 4K projectors and experiential content. Beyond promoting to the general public, it served as an information hub to strengthen relationships with Games stakeholders and partner companies ahead of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games and Tokyo 2020 Games. Many people visited during the Olympic period.

Regarding the well-received "Stadium of Wonders," Yumiko Tanizaki of the Olympic and Paralympic Division, Event Sponsorship Promotion Office, Advertising Department, Panasonic Brand Communication Headquarters, explained the reason for choosing Sugarloaf Mountain as the pavilion location: "Sugarloaf Mountain proposed that we become their technology partner, handling everything from the delivery of projectors and solar panels to maintenance. While pavilions have typically been set up within the Olympic Park, Sugarloaf is a famous tourist destination in Rio. We believed it would allow us to promote to a different demographic than before, so we decided to collaborate during the Rio Olympics."
Panasonic had primarily focused its pavilions on general visitors in the past. At Sugarloaf, however, it emphasized B2B by establishing a VIP lounge for corporate clients. "We envisioned the pavilion as a place for general visitors to share in the excitement of the Olympics, and for corporations to gain an understanding of Panasonic's technology and solutions through the Olympics," said Tanizaki.

The presentation of exhibits was tailored differently for the general public and corporate visitors. "For the general public, we wanted them to experience and enjoy projection mapping and 4K video. For corporate visitors, staff provided explanations of the exhibits, striving to promote understanding of the technology." Visiting corporate entities were diverse, including media representatives, bid committees from countries considering future hosting, the Rio Organizing Committee, Tokyo 2020 stakeholders, and Tokyo 2020 partner companies. "Many corporations visited, allowing us to deepen relationships. We immediately received reactions like wanting to create similar pavilions or use projectors for events," said Mr. Tanizaki.
Finally, looking ahead to the Tokyo 2020 Games, he stated, "Interest from overseas is high. We want to strengthen ties with Tokyo 2020 partner companies and build excitement together."
