The Japan Magazine Advertising Association recently announced the winners of the 59th Japan Magazine Advertising Awards. The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award went to Mazda's "Be a driver. 2015" campaign (pictured), while Shiseido received the Grand Prize.
Additionally, the Advertising Awards Steering Committee Special Award went to Toyota Marketing Japan.
The judging period covered advertisements published between July 1, 2015, and June 30, 2016. From 3,580 entries submitted by publishers affiliated with the Magazine Advertising Association, a selection committee composed primarily of creative professionals chose 266 works. On September 6, a panel of nine judges commissioned by the association (Chair: Keisuke Nagatomo, Art Director/Illustrator) determined the winners of the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award," the "Grand Prize," and the winners in each category.
The winning works will be honored at an awards ceremony on November 8 at the Tokyo Dome Hotel in Bunkyo Ward. A presentation event will be held on November 16 at Taiko-en in Osaka City.
An exhibition of the award-winning works will be held at the Ad Museum Tokyo in Shiodome from March 2 to 25, 2017.
