The "D&AD Awards 2016 Exhibition" (organized by the Hideo Yoshida Memorial Foundation and D&AD) is being held at the Ad Museum Tokyo in Shiodome. (Until January 14)
The "D&AD (Design and Art Direction) Awards" is an international prize recognizing outstanding creative work that paves the way for the next generation across all design fields. It is known as the pinnacle creative award coveted by creators worldwide.
This exhibition focuses on showcasing top-tier awards and Japanese entries. Details here

The 2016 D&AD Awards showed a trend toward greater emphasis on the fundamentals of design, with numerous works boasting "overwhelming foundational strength" receiving awards. Furthermore, the highest honor, the Black Pencil—so rigorously selected that it is sometimes not awarded at all—was given to just two works out of approximately 26,000 entries.
Among those Black Pencils, IYAMA DESIGN's work for Kamo-i Processing Paper's "mt expo 2015" shone brightly. This marked the third time in the 54-year history of the D&AD Awards that a Japanese work achieved this remarkable feat.
"mt expo 2015" was an exhibition and sales event for the masking tape "mt" held at KIITO Design Creative Center Kobe in 2015. To present the product's colors and patterns, the entire venue was decorated using "mt" tape, creating a unique space.
Additionally, 42 other entries from Japan's 621 submissions won awards including the Yellow Pencil, demonstrating Japan's design strength to the world.
