Toyota Motor Corporation launched a facelifted version of its compact hybrid car, the Aqua, on June 19. The model features a redesigned exterior and introduces a new grade, the "Crossover."
Starting the same day, the new TV commercial "Crossover DESIGN" edition aired, followed by the "Drive in Japan," "Same: Low Fuel Consumption," and "Same: Automatic Braking" editions starting the 20th.
The Crossover DESIGN edition was filmed in Valencia, Spain. The colorful Aqua drives briskly against a backdrop of Europe's charming old townscapes and modern architecture. A familiar tune from comedy show intros is used, resulting in dynamic visuals.
The "Drive in Japan" edition features locations nationwide, including dazzling Tokyo and beautiful Kyoto and Kanazawa. Aerial shots are incorporated, allowing viewers to enjoy the Aqua's smooth and pleasant drive. The music is "Baroque Hoedown," known as the theme for Disneyland's Electrical Parade. Previous Aqua commercials also drew attention by using themes from video games like Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter. This time, a club music arrangement has been added, making the tune even more memorable. The commercial can be viewed on the company's official YouTube channel.
To coincide with the launch and spark greater interest in the Aqua, the company surveyed approximately 1,800 Aqua owners nationwide. They published the "AQUA Owner × Color Guide," analyzing Aqua's color schemes from various perspectives.
It reveals trends categorized by popular colors, residence, blood type, zodiac sign, occupation, and more.
Choosing a color when purchasing an Aqua is sure to be more fun.
An advertisement scheduled for publication in 48 regional newspapers on June 23rd features a special trick. The hint is "read horizontally." Will you notice it?
