"AWA DANCE" Part 2 Features Athletes Including Gamba Endo

Panasonic released an original promotional video on June 13th featuring a collaboration with the techno-pop unit Perfume. The video showcases the unique "Bubble Wash" function in their washing machines, which uses dense foam to thoroughly remove stubborn stains. Within one week of its release, the video surpassed 2 million views.

Building on this success, the company released a second music video, "AWA DANCE by Team Panasonic," on the 21st. This video features "Team Panasonic"—comprising company employees alongside soccer player Yasuhito Endo (Gamba Osaka) and rugby player Akihito Yamada (Panasonic Wild Knights)—performing the same "AWA DANCE" as Perfume.

This videoutilized cutting-edge technology:the dance movements were motion-captured, and the data was then overlaid with 3D scans of the athletes. This allowed the athletes, who had no dance experience, to perfectly replicate Perfume's moves, resulting in a video showcasing incredibly sharp dancing. The sheer perfection of the replication is sure to bring a smile to your face.
The dance choreography is inspired by the unique washing functions of the company's washing machines, such as "Bubble Wash," "Pounding Wash," and "Kneading Wash." Upon learning this, Perfume's three members reacted with surprise, exclaiming, "We had no idea such meaning was embedded in it!" They reportedly got excited during filming, commenting things like, "The Bubble Wash movements are cute!" and "It even includes the motion of laundry fluttering in the wind!?"
