Dentsu Inc. Reaches Agreement to Acquire 100% of Shares in UK Data Analytics Consulting Firm Aquila Insight
Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Yamamoto; Capital: ¥74,609.81 million) has reached an agreement with the shareholders of Aquila Insight Limited (Headquarters: Edinburgh, UK; Co-Founders and Co-CEOs: John Brodie, Warwick Beresford-Jones; hereinafter "Aquila Insight"), the UK's largest independent data analytics consulting firm, to acquire 100% of its shares.
Aquila Insight employs over 60 specialists, including data analysts, and possesses a proprietary data platform. Leveraging this expertise, it provides advanced services to top brands across Europe in areas such as predictive analytics, media mix optimization, digital analytics, and CRM strategy development, contributing to enhancing corporate marketing ROI.
The purpose of this acquisition is to further strengthen the global network brand "Merkle" (headquartered in Maryland, USA) as a global leader in this service area.

Following the acquisition, we will integrate Aquila Insight into the Merkle network, rename the brand "Merkle | Aquila," and accelerate our growth strategy in the UK market and European region through close collaboration with other group companies.
This will bring Merkle's total number of professionals in Europe, including the UK, to over 850.
The impact of this transaction on Dentsu's consolidated results for the fiscal year ending December 2017 will be minimal.
