"Pokémon Card Station" Opens in Funabashi Is Maple Chogokin's Ando-san a "Snorlax"?

On September 16, a permanent Pokémon Card Station space opened at LaLaport TOKYO-BAY in Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, and a launch event was held.
This trading card game involves using cards featuring Pokémon characters and items to battle opponents one-on-one.
Since its release in 1996, it has enjoyed widespread support across all age groups and is sold in 74 countries and regions worldwide, offering sophisticated battles through deck combinations and strategies using sets of 60 cards called decks.
At the Station, visitors can easily enjoy the Pokémon Trading Card Game anytime, receive advice on how to play from a concierge, and related events are held daily.

At the venue, the comedy duo "Maple Chogokin," who appear in the TV commercial for the fourth expansion pack of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, were introduced as guests. However, only Kazureza and Pikachu made an appearance.
Kazlaser commented with a straight face, "Kids aren't into me lately, so I headhunted Pikachu. I'm grateful it's going over well." Natsu Ando then appeared late.

Ando retorted, "Don't mistake me just because we have similar body types!" She then revealed her Pikachu makeup and tail-adorned costume, which took an hour to complete. However, Kazureza coldly dismissed her, stating, "Your makeup isn't finished at all. The globally popular 'Pikachu-san' is much better."
When asked about reactions to the commercial, Kaz Laser reported, "Trendy Angel's Takashi, known as a huge Pokémon fan, is incredibly jealous. He's been hitting me hard lately."

In a luck-based battle using the newly released Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion packs "Awakening Heroes" and "Hyperdimensional Beasts," Ando won by drawing a rare GX card. Upon seeing the card he accidentally picked up, Ando expressed his delight, saying, "Boo Pig looks just like me... it's purple too." He also shared an anecdote about being mistaken for a Snorlax by someone playing Pokémon GO and nearly getting caught, which had the audience in stitches.
