Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, has launched the "Shinkansen Attraction Project 'Tokyo 2023 Kaga'" to attract a new station to Kaga-Onsen Station in the city, in anticipation of the Hokuriku Shinkansen extension in 2023.
To coincide with the project's launch, the city has released all four episodes of the project movie "Kaga City Shinkansen Countermeasures Office Season 1" on the project website starting August 28.
A total of 50 people participated as cast members in the filming of the videos, including Kaga City Hall staff, Kaga citizens, and the city's PR unit LADY KAGA. The documentary-style drama film conveys the citizens' passionate and earnest desire to bring the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kaga Onsen Station, along with their envy and jealousy toward Kanazawa, which has already seen significant development as a tourist city following the Shinkansen's opening.
