Establishment of Dentsu Digital Inc. Networks, a Community-Focused Digital Advertising Specialist Company

Dentsu Digital Inc. Holdings (DDH), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dentsu Inc., has established "Dentsu Digital Networks" (DDN), a regionally focused digital advertising specialist company, as a joint venture (JV) with SoldOut, a wholly owned subsidiary of OPT, and SearchLife, a subsidiary of SoldOut. DDN will commence operations in mid-January.

Performance-based advertising, centered on search engine marketing (SEM), enables businesses of all sizes—from large corporations in metropolitan areas to core regional companies and SMEs—to conduct internet-based sales promotion activities. The market for this continues to expand. However, handling performance-based advertising requires dedicated operational systems and specialized expertise. General advertising agencies often lack sufficient capacity, resulting in inadequate service provision to clients in regional areas.

To address these challenges and needs, DDN was established as a joint venture (JV) combining the locally rooted business foundations cultivated over many years by Dentsu Inc. affiliated companies nationwide with the expertise of the SoldOut Group in programmatic advertising for small and medium-sized businesses. Moving forward, DDN will establish sales offices within Dentsu Inc. Group company locations. Teams will be formed combining Dentsu Inc. Group employees with extensive local sales experience and SoldOut Group staff skilled in the practical aspects of programmatic advertising, from proposal to operation. These teams will propose sales promotion plans maximizing cost-effectiveness for regional clients. Depending on the client's situation, Dentsu Inc. headquarters and Nextedge Dentsu will also support collaboration.

For DDN's nationwide expansion, operations will commence in January 2014 in Hiroshima (in collaboration with Dentsu West Japan Inc.), Gifu (in collaboration with Dentsu Meitetsu Communications Inc.), and Nagano (in collaboration with Nagano Ad Bureau Inc.). Additional sales offices will be opened sequentially across the country thereafter. Furthermore, the Dentsu Group and SoldOut Group will establish client service systems outside the new office areas, aiming to contribute to the expansion and revitalization of the digital business market in each region. Additionally, SoldOut's existing 11 locations (Sapporo/Niigata/Omiya/Tokyo/Yokohama/Shizuoka/Nagoya/Fukui/Osaka/Kobe/Fukuoka) will continue their sales activities independently as SoldOut.
