At Pyeongchang's Olympic Plaza, where alpine events take place, and Gangneung's Olympic Park, home to indoor venues, multiple partner companies have set up PR facilities and displayed outdoor advertisements at airports, in city centers, and around venues. They are also engaged in diverse activities, including providing technology and services for event operations, supplying goods, and supporting participating athletes.
Panasonic, an Olympic sponsor since 1988, is supplying audiovisual equipment for this Games, including solutions for visual production and system operations, to the opening and closing ceremonies, competition venues, and the International Broadcast Center. It is also conducting a trial operation of its "Multi-Video Distribution System" for stakeholders, aiming for full implementation at the Tokyo Games. This system allows multi-angle video viewing on smartphones and tablets as sub-screens, limited to the figure skating venue.
Bridgestone, celebrating its first Olympics as a partner, is supplying winter tires for vehicles used by the International Olympic Committee. It is also displaying outdoor advertisements at Incheon International Airport, in Seoul city, and around competition venues. Its slogan, "CHASE YOUR DREAM," embodies the sentiment it wishes to convey through the Olympics. It also supports athletes competing as part of "Team Bridgestone." By supporting the PyeongChang 2018 Education Program, it is also contributing to creating a social legacy.
Toyota became a Worldwide Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2015, aiming to "build a peaceful and discrimination-free society through sports." Against this backdrop, it launched the global corporate challenge "Start Your Impossible" last October. This initiative signifies the company's new direction, "Mobility for All."
For these Games, Toyota is supporting over 50 athletes from 20 countries worldwide, including its own employee athletes, as "Team Toyota Athletes."
Coca-Cola, the longest-standing Olympic partner, is active at both venues. In Pyeongchang, it runs a campaign where participants take photos in front of bottle installations or panels and post them on social media to win prizes. In Gangneung, it has installed a giant vending machine. Visitors insert large coins, triggering products to drop out of the machine.
The company also participated as an official sponsor of the Olympic Torch Relay. Coca-Cola trucks led the relay, with members performing songs and dances to energize spectators along the route.
