The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government held the "Tokyo 2020 Live Site in 2018" in Tokyo, three prefectures in Tohoku, and Kumamoto during the PyeongChang Olympics.
From February 22 to 24, towards the end of the PyeongChang Games, the event was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Symbol Promenade Park in Koto Ward, Tokyo. It cheered on Japanese athletes competing at the PyeongChang Olympics and boosted enthusiasm for the 2020 Tokyo Games.
On the 24th, the stage featured performances by children from Koto Ward's Ariake Elementary School band, baton twirling, and dances and flamenco by university students, delighting attendees.
A public viewing on large monitors broadcast the men's snowboard halfpipe finals. Although recorded, commentary by former snowboarder and Olympian Domu Narita conveyed the depth of the sport.

For the artist live performance, the one-day-only band "Clay Yukiz with yui," formed around former Kimaguren member Clay Yuki, took the stage.
Clay declared, "Let's deliver everyone's thoughts to Pyeongchang!" and delivered a passionate performance of six songs. During the final song, "LIFE," the entire venue jumped together as a cheer for the Japanese athletes.
The athlete talk show featured Mr. Narita, Olympic swimmer Yayoi Matsumoto, and Paralympian Shinji Negi, who shared their thoughts on the Pyeongchang and Tokyo Games.
The three celebrated the achievements of Japanese athletes in Pyeongchang and praised the sportsmanship shown by speed skater Nao Kodaira, who won gold, such as her consideration for foreign competitors. They also emphasized that support definitely reaches the athletes and expressed their desire to cheer on athletes from other countries as well as their own to energize the Games.
Looking ahead to Tokyo, they exchanged views, stating: "We want to remember 'omotenashi' (hospitality) once more and make it a truly Japanese Games," and "By involving as many people as possible in the Games, we aim to create a society where everyone can thrive."
At the venue, partners of the 2020 Games set up promotional booths, and experience corners for various sports were established, bustling with families and visitors.
