Dentsu Inc. Acquires Worldwide Format Sales Rights and Sponsor Sales Rights for "MOVE: The Exhibition Where You Can Become a Living Creature"
Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto) has focused on content that blends education and entertainment, participating in the production committee(※1) for the "MOVE: Become a Living Creature" exhibition (hereinafter "the exhibition"). Following the success of the Tokyo exhibition, Dentsu has now secured the global format sales rights(※2) and sponsorship sales rights for the exhibition, including Japan.
The exhibition allows participants to transform into real-life creatures, such as the familiar pillbug or the rare water-running lizard, the basilisk. It offers a large-scale "pretend play" experience where visitors can physically embody these creatures and experience their ecology. This experience, which uses the entire body to feel extraordinary sensations—neither a video game nor VR—is uniquely novel in this era and leaves a vivid impression unattainable by other events.
This exhibition was born from a collaboration with the hugely popular series "Moving Picture Encyclopedia MOVE" (published by Kodansha), which has sold over 3 million copies. Its greatest appeal lies in balancing educational and entertainment elements that promote biodiversity awareness and understanding of others, based on MOVE's policy of providing "surprise and wonder" while inviting visitors into the world of learning.
The Tokyo exhibition, held from November 29, 2017, to April 8, 2018, attracted approximately 200,000 visitors, making it a hugely successful exhibition. Following this, the exhibition moved to Osaka, where "MOVE: The Exhibition Where You Can Become a Living Creature in Hirakata Park" ran from April 21 to August 26, 2018. Its popularity has also spread overseas, with requests for touring exhibitions coming in from around the world.
Recognizing the exhibition's status as a killer content, our company has decided to expand it widely both domestically and internationally. Going forward, we will collaborate with our group companies worldwide, leveraging format sales rights and sponsorship sales rights to provide services that create and maximize marketing opportunities for companies, educational institutions, entertainment facilities, and others in various countries.
※1 The production committee for "MOVE: The Exhibition Where You Can Become a Living Creature" includes, besides our company, Kodansha Ltd., Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo Headquarters, NHK Enterprises, Dentsu Live Inc., and Vector Inc.
※2 A sales method where the exhibition concept, design plans, and data are shared, with local production handled on-site.
