Developed "ADVANCED CREATIVE MAKER" (beta version), an AI tool that automatically generates banners
― Aiming for New Collaboration Between Humans and AI in Creative Work ―
Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto), Dentsu Digital Inc., and Data Artist Inc., three Dentsu Group companies, have jointly developed "ADVANCED CREATIVE MAKER" (beta version), an AI-powered tool for automatically generating banners.
This tool contributes to the efficient generation of high-performance banners by analyzing the visual expressions and click-through rate (CTR) performance of previously delivered internet advertising banners using deep learning. The tool can generate approximately one banner every five seconds. It is designed to generate over 1,000 potential candidate banners in a short time, from which 10 to 20 particularly outstanding proposals can be utilized.
In January of this year, we launched the group-wide project team "AI MIRAI" (*) to further advance AI research in the advertising and marketing field. The background for this tool development lies in the modern marketing trend aiming for communication optimized for each individual consumer. Consequently, mass banner generation is also required for online advertising, but traditionally, this had to be done entirely by hand, requiring significant time. To solve this challenge, as part of "AI MIRAI" activities, Dentsu Digital Inc.'s "Advanced Creative Center" ( http://advancedcreativecenter.com/ ) led the overall design and production of the tool, while Data Artist Inc. developed the predictive model, enabling the creation of this tool.
Our group has named this new collaborative model, where creators and AI share the actual work, "ADVANCED CREATIVE." We are undertaking this initiative with the vision of transforming the very way creators work. Moving forward, we plan to expand this system to other creative domains, such as video advertising.
<How "ADVANCED CREATIVE MAKER (β version)" Works>
Based on input orientation such as "keywords" and "appeal points," the first prediction engine identifies creative elements likely to perform well.
Next, based on these candidates, an auto-generation tool assembles the banner design. Copy is generated by Dentsu Inc.'s original AI copywriter, "AICO".
The second prediction engine then simulates click-through rates more precisely for the resulting creative, retaining those predicted to be most effective. Finally, human touch-ups complete the process.
*A central project team that combines cutting-edge AI expertise developed and operated across internal projects with our established external network to drive AI adoption—an essential element for future business—both internally and externally.
