Unveiling the Pitch-Sized Support Flag! Tomorrow: Send-off Ceremony for the Japan National Soccer Team

The Japan Football Association will hold a send-off ceremony for the Japan national team participating in the World Cup Russia tournament at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama on May 30th. This is part of the SAMURAI BLUE (Japan national team) support project "Dreams Become Power 2018." The ceremony will take place after the Kirin Challenge Cup 2018 match against Ghana.

At this ceremony, a flag bearing messages of support for the national team written by soccer fans nationwide will be unveiled for the first time. Attention is focused on this support flag, which is the largest pitch-sized flag in Japanese history.

A live performance will be given by the popular unit "Ukaskage," consisting of Kazutoshi Sakurai from the rock band "Mr.Children" and hip-hop MC GAKU-MC.

Finally, speeches by Head Coach Akira Nishino and Captain Makoto Hasebe are scheduled, along with the presentation of bouquets to both.

The send-off ceremony will be exclusively live-streamed on JFATV (URL: http://www.jfa.jp/jfa_tv/).
