[Call for Participants] "Asahi Global Conference 2018: A Promise to the Next Generation - Toward a More Tolerant Society"
The Asahi Shimbun will hold the international symposium "Asahi Global Forum 2018" to discuss solutions for global social issues on September 24 at Iino Hall in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, and on the 25th and 26th at The Imperial Hotel Tokyo.
Approximately 30 lectures and panel discussions are scheduled over the three days, and participants are currently being recruited. (Free admission, deadline September 5; lottery if oversubscribed)

This marks the third iteration of the event since the "Asahi Global Environment Forum," held from 2008 to 2015, was renamed the "Asahi Global Conference" in 2016.
This year's theme is "Promises to the Next Generation: Toward a More Tolerant Society." To realize the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) vision of "leaving no one behind," the forum will bring together domestic and international experts, policymakers, and representatives from corporations and NPOs to deepen discussions on strategies for achieving a tolerant society that transcends conflicts and discrimination based on religion, creed, race, or gender. It will consider various global challenges, including international politics, AI (artificial intelligence), IoT, ESG investment, SDGs Future Cities, gender, architecture, the hydrogen society, and bird conservation activities.
