On October 21, the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee held the event "Tokyo 2020 Let's 55 ~Let's Go Go~ with Aoyama Sports Festival" (Co-hosted by the Aoyama Sports Festival 2018 Executive Committee [Asahi Shimbun, Dai-Nichi Co., Ltd.]; Supported by Meiji, Japan Post, Recruit, and others) at the United Nations University in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.


This event aimed to build momentum for the Games by offering the general public the chance to experience all 55 sports featured in the Tokyo Games. The first installment was held in August at LaLaport Toyosu in Koto Ward, Tokyo. ( https://dentsu-ho.com/articles/6203 )

The venue, centered around the university's courtyard, featured experience areas for 14 sports including wheelchair basketball, baseball, BMX, boxing, wheelchair fencing, and track and field.
Olympian Tsuguharu Ogihara (ski) appeared on the opening stage, introducing the athletes serving as instructors for the performances and experiences in each sport.
Ogihara expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I want to try every sport available today."
Following this, the event commenced with warm-up exercises led by local children performing cheerleading routines and the Meiji Power Gymnastics.
Beyond the sports experiences, freestyle basketball and parkour performances were also showcased. Many families enjoyed the event under clear autumn skies.
