― Contributing to Innovative Product Development by Creating Experiential Value Using Materials ―

Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto) has launched a new business initiative focused on creating experiential value through materials. This effort is a collaboration between DENTSU DESIGN FIRM (※), an internal cross-functional organization within Dentsu Inc., and Material ConneXion Tokyo (Operating Company: M-Crossing Inc., Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Kumiko Yoshikawa), which operates one of the world's largest material libraries.

Material ConneXion Tokyo operates a library where users can view cutting-edge materials sourced globally, including sustainable alternatives to plastics and paper, as well as specialty materials developed for aerospace applications. It manages a permanent exhibition where materials can be physically touched and a globally shared database containing information on approximately 7,500 materials. The organization also provides material consulting services, fostering innovation by facilitating cross-border utilization of materials and processing technologies across diverse fields.

Through this collaboration, we will combine our expertise and know-how in communication with Material Connection Tokyo's specialized knowledge and experience in materials. This will enable us to create and deliver unprecedented experiential value—the "Material Experience"—that goes beyond traditional solutions focused on appearance elements like color, texture, and finish. This new value will be achieved through the utilization of materials to create novel value and solve societal challenges. Furthermore, by providing end-to-end solutions—from material-driven consulting to product design and communication—we will contribute to companies' innovative product development.
