Toshihiko Tanabe of Dentsu Inc. has been awarded the 2018 "Creator of the Year" prize, sponsored by the Japan Advertising Association (Chairman: Junji Narita).
This award recognizes an individual creator from among the association's member companies who produced the most outstanding creative work in 2018. Since its inception in 1989, this marks the 30th time the award has been presented. This is the 28th time a Dentsu Inc. creator has been selected as Creator of the Year.
Tanabe achieved success with Toyota Motor Corporation's first global campaign at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and the 52nd Super Bowl. He was also recognized for his work for NTT DOCOMO, Inc., where he transported Namie Amuro back in time to Shibuya 25 years ago, captivating viewers by transcending time and space.
Additionally, our company's Yuta Higashihata (CDC Executive Creative Director) was selected as one of the eight recipients of the "Creator of the Year Medalist" award.

[Award Comment]
I'm more surprised than anyone else about this award.
Having worked on many overseas projects in recent years, I am truly grateful to receive such an honorable award in Japan.
I want to keep creating work that touches people's emotions, regardless of whether it's "Japan or overseas" or "advertising or beyond."
