Visa Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Gold Partner

Visa, a Worldwide Paralympic Partner, signed a sponsorship agreement with the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on April 15, becoming a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Gold Partner.
The contract category is "Payment Systems."

Steven Curpin, President of Visa Worldwide Japan, commented: "We share the vision of 'creating an inclusive society through the Paralympic Movement' and have supported the Paralympics for many years since 2002. As the sole payment technology sponsor, we will support the success of the Tokyo Games with innovative technology and focus on promoting cashless payments in Japan."

Additionally, the company has decided to welcome Japanese Paralympic athlete Monica Setari (canoe) as the first Japanese athlete to join Team Visa ahead of the Tokyo Games. This brings the total number of Japanese members to five, including swimmers Daiya Seto and Kanako Watanabe, surfer Kanoa Igarashi, and BMX rider Rimu Nakamura.

The Team Visa program provides athletes pursuing lifelong dreams with essential tools and resources both on and off the field of play. Visa plans to continue expanding its roster of athlete members across a wide range of sports leading up to the 2020 Games.

Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori commented, "Visa has been a Worldwide Paralympic Partner for the longest period, supporting both the Games and the athletes. We are delighted to have their strong support in further realizing the Paralympic Movement."
