The text of the Dentsu Inc. news release distributed on June 26 is as follows.

June 26, 2019

DENTSU SOKEN INC. (Director: Naoki Tani), an internal organization of Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto), will adopt "Quality of Society" as its new theme starting July 2019.

DENTSU SOKEN INC.'s 1992 report "Trends in Japan: Quality of Society" called for a qualitative shift in people's values and society, moving away from the bubble era's economic focus.

Today, advancements in ICT and other factors have significantly transformed people's lives, work, and society. This has created a disconnect and numerous challenges between people's consciousness and behavior and the existing social systems.

Looking toward 2020, DENTSU SOKEN INC. is once again adopting "Quality of Society" as its activity theme. We are launching a project to analyze the relationship between people's consciousness and the quality of society, exploring a desirable future vision.

Overview of the "Quality of Society" Project

・Conduct original surveys on the consciousness and values of the people who make up society, continuing to collect objective indicators.
・We will clarify the challenges facing various social systems from the perspective of quality (performance, durability, reliability, etc.).
・We will advance our activities while deepening collaboration with external experts.
・We will compile and publish the report "Quality of Society 2020" by spring 2020.

Moving forward, DENTSU SOKEN INC. will develop the "Quality of Society" project in broad collaboration with people steadily nurturing the seeds of a brighter future. We will also provide timely proposals and disseminate information on specific themes. Furthermore, we plan to establish "DENTSU SOKEN INC. Kyoto" in July 2019.
