On July 20, the Osaka Advertising Association began accepting entries for the second edition of the "HaHaHa Osaka Creativity Awards" (HaHaHa), an advertising award newly established last year.
HaHaHa is a unique advertising award that gathers "funny" content that moves people from across Japan to Osaka and celebrates its creators. It is a complete overhaul of the "MADE IN OSAKA CM AWARDS," which ran for 16 years until 2017.
Content submissions are accepted across multiple genres—including advertising, broadcasting, music, and film—under three categories: ① Surprised me with a "Wow!", ② Made me go "Haaah!", and ③ Made me laugh "Ha ha ha!". Judging involves an initial screening by officers of the association's CM Joint Research Committee, followed by a final judging committee. The HaHaHa Grand Prix and other awards will be publicly decided and presented. The awards ceremony will be held as a party-style event, also serving as a cross-genre networking opportunity for creators. Prizes include: * HaHaHa Grand Prix (1 winner): ¥88,888 cash prize and trophy * Ha Award, HaHa Award, HaHaHa Award (1 winner each): ¥88,888 cash prize and trophy * Special Awards (1-2 winners): ¥8,888 cash prize
Submissions close on October 11 (no entry fee). The final judging and award ceremony are scheduled for January 2020 at Misono Universe in Chuo Ward, Osaka City. Details can be found on the association's website.
