First Reiwa "Year-End Jumbo Lottery" With such big prizes, "Not buying one isn't really an option, is it?!"
The first "Year-End Jumbo Lottery" and "Year-End Jumbo Mini" of the Reiwa era went on sale nationwide on November 20.
The Jumbo Lottery offers a top prize of 1 billion yen (including front and back prizes), while the Jumbo Mini offers a top prize of 50 million yen (including front and back prizes). Combined, they offer approximately 109,000 winning tickets worth 100,000 yen or more, making the high number of chances a major draw.

At the Nishi-Ginza Chance Center in Chuo Ward, Tokyo—known for producing many big winners—the lottery counter opened with a call from lottery lucky goddess Ayako Kondo. Many lottery fans who had lined up since early morning purchased their Year-End Jumbos.

On the same day, a special stage in front of the sales counter hosted a launch event. Attending were Jumbo Lottery CM characters Shofukutei Tsurube and Takeru Satoh, along with talent Nanase Nishino, who co-stars with Tsurube in the new TV CM "Year-End Show Lottery" edition.

In the commercial, Tsurube-san addresses the audience on stage: "Let's believe that something good will happen at the very end of Reiwa Year 1. So..." Sato-san murmurs "No way..." from the audience, and Nishino-san appears from behind, holding up the word "Reiwa" made from lottery tickets.
Tsurube delivers his signature line: "There's no choice but to buy, right?!" Simultaneously, the curtain rises to reveal a choir passionately singing "100 million, 100 million~ 100 million la~ la la~" to the melody of Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony." Actor Jin Katagiri's face can be seen among the choir members. Watching Tsurube-san boldly wield the baton, Sato-san remarked with feeling, "It really feels like year-end, doesn't it?"

Tsurube shared an anecdote about filming: "It was my first time playing a conductor, and I didn't know how to act it. The stand-in during the test shoot had experience, so I learned from him."
Sato made the audience laugh, saying, "Until now, I'd always filmed with my mentor, so filming separately for the first time was lonely. But if we'd filmed together, I think I would've laughed at the sight of him waving the baton and couldn't have acted properly."
Nishino shared, "I'm thrilled to appear in a commercial I always watched. The 'Reiwa' frame was unexpectedly heavy, and I had muscle soreness the next day."
When asked for a single character representing this year, Sato chose "black" because she found coordinating her casual outfits tedious and ended up wearing black almost every day. Tsurube announced "re-emergence," citing opportunities like landing a movie lead role for the first time in ten years. He smiled, adding, "Recently, a stranger told me, 'You've made a re-breakthrough, haven't you?' This TV commercial is great, right?" Nishino stated "new" because she graduated from Nogizaka46 and kept challenging herself with new endeavors.

When a mountain representing 1 billion yen appeared on stage, all three reacted with astonishment at its overwhelming scale. Asked "What would you do if you won 1 billion yen?", Sato replied "Buy clothes other than black," Nishino said "I'd like to build a monument in my hometown to commemorate the win," and Tsurube shared his dream: "Build a traditional Japanese-style home right in the heart of Ginza, where land prices are sky-high."
Both Jumbo Lotteries are on sale until December 21st, with the draw taking place on December 31st at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall.
