Nikkei Inc. Launches Special Website Showcasing Selected Cannes Lions Works

Cannes Lions is an annual award held in Cannes, France, in June, evaluating outstanding examples of creative and communication campaigns from around the world from a global perspective.
In recent years, the awards have increasingly emphasized criteria such as the social issues addressed and resolved by the campaigns. The PR category, established in 2009, is characterized by many award-winning works where companies took the lead in tackling social issues like gender equality and environmental problems, thereby changing societal and consumer awareness and behavior.
Following the festival's cancellation due to the novel coronavirus, the company recognized that corporate communication in such an environment increasingly requires actions that clearly demonstrate social purpose and contribute to solving societal challenges. This led to the creation of the website as a resource offering insights into approaches for addressing various social issues, including coronavirus-related damage, and the corresponding communication strategies.
The site plans to feature global initiatives aimed at revitalizing society during the pandemic. "By comprehensively viewing these efforts, we hope to contribute to the formulation of future corporate communication strategies in Japan," the company stated.

The teaser site ( https://cannesprlions.com/ ) will launch on June 1st, with the main site opening on June 22nd, the date the festival was originally scheduled to begin.
The teaser site features and explains award-winning works from the past decade that fundamentally shifted public awareness of social issues and brought about transformation.
