The world's first challenge, the "KIBO Space Broadcasting Station" Opening Special, airs Wednesday, August 12, starting at 7:45 PM.
Interactive creative company VASQUEL has established the interactive program studio "KIBO Space Broadcasting Station" (The Space Frontier Studio KIBO) inside the Kibo Japanese Experiment Module on the International Space Station (ISS). Together with SKY Perfect JSAT, they have begun activities aimed at creating space media ventures. This is part of JAXA's (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) co-creation R&D program J-SPARC, which seeks innovative space-related ventures.
As a demonstration experiment, the first episode of "KIBO Space Broadcasting Station Opening Special ~WE ARE KIBO CREW~" will be live-streamed and broadcast on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, from 7:45 PM to 10:00 PM. Toshiyuki Nakamura and Masaki Suda will lead the program.

August 12, the broadcast date, coincides with the night the Perseid meteor shower, one of the three major meteor showers, visits Earth. It was chosen because a starry night when wishes come true is fitting for this world-first challenge.
Witness the historic moment when a studio is established aboard the ISS, orbiting Earth at 8 kilometers per second, 400 kilometers above the ground.
