Dentsu Inc. Diversity Lab, which proposes solutions for various corporate challenges related to diversity and inclusion, has created the "LGBTQ+ Ally Action Guide: Know, Think, Act." It is available as a freely adaptable digital book.
[Introduction]
As of 2021, initiatives concerning LGBTQ+ issues have increased in Japan. Topics like same-sex partnership systems and gender-neutral uniforms are being covered on TV and online.
While such big news is very welcome, we believe creating an LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere for people and places is equally important. Essential to this is the presence of "Allies."
In this guidebook, Dentsu Inc. Diversity Lab—which has worked on LGBTQ+ issues for over a decade—shares concrete actions based on input from LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. While there's no single right answer for ally behavior, we've compiled the basics using the latest survey data.
Whether you're thinking, "I want to help, but where do I start?" or "I know about LGBTQ+ issues, but I'm not sure what the problems are," we encourage you to read this guide.
