D2C Inc. has revamped its "Mobile Advertising Grand Prix," held since 2002, launching the new "Code Awards." Applications will be accepted from March 3rd (until April 25th).
Against the backdrop of smartphone proliferation and the establishment of integrated marketing communications, the Code Awards have expanded their scope beyond mobile-only to encompass all digital domains centered on smartphones. They will honor marketing communication cases and works utilizing digital technology. The name "CODE" stands for Creativity Of Digital Experiences, inspired by the source code that shapes the digital world.
The "CODE Awards 2014" will evaluate cases and works implemented or launched between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014. Advertisers, advertising agencies, production companies, and others can submit entries, but awards are presented to the advertisers. From all entries, one work will receive the "Grand Prix," and four other awards will be selected. A "Public Best" award, determined by online public voting, will also be presented.
Professor Naoto Onzou of Waseda University's School of Commerce serves as the chief judge. A panel of eight judges, including Tsuyoshi Natsuno, Naoki Ito, and Takafumi Horie, will deliberate, with the awards scheduled to be announced in mid-June.
