76th Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards Winners Announced Grand Prize: Shizuoka City, First Local Government in History

Shizuoka City was selected for the Grand Prize at the 76th Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards. The Grand Prize is awarded to advertisers who have achieved outstanding results across all advertising activities, and this marks the first time a local government has received this honor. The city won top awards in four categories: "Out-of-Home Advertising," "Brand Experience," "Area Activity," and "Innovative Approach."

Grand Prize for OOH Advertising / Grand Prize for Brand Experience / Grand Prize for Area Activity / Grand Prize for Innovative Approach: Shizuoka City City Promotion "Shizuoka City Model Kit Project"

Total entries: 1,195. Eligible entries were advertising communication works implemented between April 2022 and March 2023 (March 2022 to March 2023 for the "Brand Experience" and "Area Activity" categories). A key feature of this year's awards was the recognition of companies actively developing advertising communications with a post-pandemic outlook, alongside local governments, regional newspapers, and public interest corporations. All were evaluated during the selection process for their outstanding initiatives from a social and public perspective.

■About the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards
The Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards, established in December 1947 (Showa 22), is Japan's oldest comprehensive advertising award. Operated by the "Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award Council," it aims to broaden the paths for advertisers to solve challenges and contribute to the development of Japan's industry, economy, and culture by honoring advertisers who have implemented outstanding advertising communication. Selection is conducted by a panel of judges comprising approximately 500 members nationwide, including advertisers, media companies, creators, and experts.
