"Shine a Light on the Darkness in Your Fridge! The Ultimate Delicious Rice Festival 2023" Held on September 9

The No-Peko Lab, a project within Dentsu Inc. Sodejin (Social Design Engine) aiming to solve all issues related to "children and food," will hold the "Shine a Light on the Darkness in Your Fridge! Ultimate Delicious Rice Festival 2023" on Saturday, September 9. The event aims to make using leftovers commonplace among young people by promoting food loss reduction in an enjoyable way, ultimately contributing to the eradication of hunger and poverty.

This event is the final judging for the "Shine a Light on Your Fridge! Ultimate Delicious Meal Recipe Contest," targeting high school and university students. It collaborates with six universities and other institutions with food-related departments, featuring recipes using ingredients that tend to rank in the top 10 for being left in the fridge. Participants can sample five winning recipes from the contest and exquisite dishes from a one-star French restaurant for free.

September 9th is designated as "Goo-Goo Day" (officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association), a day for everyone to think about and take action on "children and food."
