New "Gatsby" Series Commercial The "Fashion Alien's" Girlfriend Appears

Mandom will begin airing a new TV commercial for its men's grooming brand GATSBY's "Ice Deodorant Body Paper" titled "Cold Sweat: The Stylish Alien" starting March 30. The commercial features actor Shota Matsuda, the image character for the GATSBY series, and newly cast actress Chiaki Kuriyama as his girlfriend.

The setting is the room of the Stylish Alien (played by Matsuda). His girlfriend, a female Stylish Alien (Kuriyama), visits and discovers sexy DVDs on his bookshelf. She reads the titles aloud to him: "Race Queen Stylish Alien," "Jiggly Stylish Alien," "Nurse Stylish Alien," and so on. The Oshare Alien maintains a cool expression while breaking out in a cold sweat. As the narration plays over a cut of someone enjoying the product, "If you sweat, try GATSBY Ice Body Paper."

 

A new TV commercial for the "Hair Jam Series" hair styling products, also featuring Mr. Matsuda and Mr. Kuriyama as the Stylish Aliens, began airing the same day. In the "Playing Dumb Guy" edition, the Stylish Alien is caught by Mr. Kuriyama with another girlfriend and interrogated, but he stubbornly plays dumb with an exaggerated attitude.
