Dentsu Inc. in collaboration with the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) – a FIFA Master management education and research institution (Headquarters: Neuchâtel, Switzerland; Director: Bertrand Ribet) – will jointly launch the "Asian Football Management Seminar" aimed at revitalizing football in Asia. The kickoff seminar will be held at Dentsu Hall on May 9.
The seminar program targets working professionals and students, both domestic and international, interested in promoting soccer culture and soccer business. Its goal is to contribute to the further development of the growing soccer business market in Asia.
Asia boasts the world's largest soccer population, reaching 88 million people. The soccer market is steadily growing across Asian countries, and the number of Japanese athletes and management personnel active in this region is also steadily increasing.
CIES is an international sports research institute established in 1995 by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), in partnership with the University of Neuchâtel, the Canton of Neuchâtel, and the City of Neuchâtel. It operates the FIFA Master program, a Master's degree in Sports Studies. The FIFA Master was ranked as the best program in Europe for two consecutive years, in 2012 and 2013, by SportBusiness International's survey of master's programs related to sports.
The inaugural special lecturers for the joint seminar project are three individuals who hold the FIFA Master degree: Mr. Tsuneyasu Miyamoto (International Committee Member, Japan Football Association; Specially Appointed Director, J.League), Mr. Kaita Sugihara (FIFA Consultant), and Mr. Jair Bertoni (Head of Cabinet, European Professional Football Leagues).
