"TOKYO 2020: Everyone's Tomorrow" Project Start!

The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games launched the "TOKYO 2020 Everyone's Tomorrow" project on July 15th to gather public opinions and give concrete form to the bid slogan "Discover Tomorrow ~Grasp the Future~".

The project website ( vision.tokyo2020.jp) will gather voices from the public (until August 31) on "what kind of Games and future we want," publishing them on the site. Messages from athletes like Olympians and Paralympians, as well as celebrities and talents, will also be posted periodically.

Prior to the project's launch, the "TOKYO 2020 Future Lesson" was held on the 14th at Minato Ward's Minami Elementary School in Tokyo. Hiroyuki Murofushi, the Committee's Sports Director, conducted the lesson for 35 fifth-grade students.

Mr. Murofushi shared his experience of aspiring to be a hammer thrower, emphasizing the importance of supporting others, how challenges in difficult areas can lead to opportunities, and the hidden potential within everyone. He stressed the importance of "having dreams for tomorrow." Mr. Murofushi and the children interacted, including writing their future dreams on boards. The children were fascinated by the weight of the shot put and Mr. Murofushi's muscles.
