In 1947, Hideo Yoshida, Dentsu Inc. fourth president, established the Dentsu Advertising Award to promote the social and cultural advancement of the advertising industry and to bring outstanding advertising to the world. Now, 67 years later, amidst economic and social globalization and the digitalization of communication methods, advertising itself is also at a turning point. However, the philosophy envisioned by Hideo Yoshida—"Advertising is the social bond connecting companies and people"—has lived on within advertising since the founding of the award. The "Dentsu Advertising Awards Exhibition" continues to reflect each year what changes with the times and what remains unchanged.
This year, the 64 award-winning entries were decided at the final selection committee meeting on May 23, and the awards ceremony was held in Tokyo on July 1. The winning works, including the Grand Prix winner, Ajinomoto's entry, are all gathered together.
