Dentsu Inc. Donation Presented to Japan Disabled Sports Association

Dentsu Inc. decided to donate funds to the Japan Disabled Sports Association and held a presentation ceremony at the association's headquarters in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, on August 29. Kazuhiro Ito, Head of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic & Paralympic Games Office within Dentsu Inc.'s Sports Bureau, visited the association and presented the donation certificate to Chairman Mitsunori Torihara (also Chairman of the Japan Paralympic Committee (JPC)).

Chairman Torihara responded, "We are grateful for the interest shown in disabled sports. We intend to utilize this for implementing various initiatives leading up to 2020." He also touched on the increasing opportunities in recent years for the achievements of Japanese Paralympic athletes to become topics of discussion in Japanese society and the media, stating, "Going forward, we want to promote not only the athletes themselves but also the appeal of the sport."

At the "IPC (International Paralympic Committee)/Tokyo 2020 Orientation Seminar" held on January 19 and 20 this year, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Hirofumi Shimomura, stated, "Making the Paralympics a success is the key to the 2020 Games."
