Toyota Motor Corporation began airing the latest installment of its corporate " ReBORN " Taiga series TV commercial , the "Ferry" edition, starting December 18. Centered on Oda Nobunaga, played by Takuya Kimura, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, played by Beat Takeshi, this series began its journey to uplift Tohoku and Japan, wounded by the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. This installment marks the 18th episode.
This episode is set in Tokyo and features the new sedan-type fuel cell vehicle " MIRAI," released on December 15th, as its motif. Nobunaga and Hideyoshi gaze at the sunset aboard a ferry. Reflecting on the era of Nanban trade, their conversation turns to hydrogen technology – a field where Japan could potentially lead the world. Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, who appeared in episodes like "His Crown Sometimes," makes a cameo as a crew member. After disembarking the ferry, the two ride the "Mirai" to Toranomon Hills.
We're left wondering about the rest of their drive.
The commercial can be viewed on the "ReBORN" special website ( http://www.reborn-toyota.jp/ ).
