Oyatsu Company began airing a new TV commercial for its snack "Baby Star Dodekai Ramen" on February 2nd. The commercial features popular sumo wrestler Ichinojo as its image character, marking his first commercial appearance. Standing at 192 cm tall and weighing 199 kg, the sekitori is a highly regarded wrestler who achieved new makuuchi status in just his fourth tournament after his debut. Baby Star Dodekai Ramen was developed in 1999 in response to consumer requests for a way to eat Baby Star Ramen without spilling it. It features a wide, easy-to-grip, big-size design for convenient eating.
From "Making"
The settings for the "Teaching" episode, the "Like..." episode, and the "Get Used to It" episode are the Minato stable where the sekitori belongs. Facing a huge bowl of ramen, the episode depicts a heartwarming and fun conversation between the sekitori and the boy co-star. The sumo wrestler and the boy engage in playful banter, with the boy asking "Dosukoi ramen?" and the wrestler repeating "Huge ramen!" The wrestler, having received the enormous bowl, ponders, "It seems huge... or maybe not so huge..." When the wrestler tells the boy, "Get huge!" the boy retorts, "You should too, Ichinojo!" The content humorously contrasts the wrestler's size with the product's scale. The special website ( http://082.oyatsu.co.jp/product/dodekai/ ) features the commercial, behind-the-scenes footage, and an interview with the sumo wrestler.
